We flew out a day before the cruise and did a little sightseeing in Amsterdam. I highly recommend doing this to get acclimated to the time change. We took a canal cruise which was interesting, but not recommended if you have jet lag! The warm sun made my eyelids heavy and I am sure I missed a thing or two!
Castle De Haar was once the private residence of the Van Zuylen family, whose descendants still stay here yearly. The castle also frequently hosted members of the international jet-set with their lavish lifestyle; from Coco Chanel to Roger Moore, they too left their mark on the plush rooms of the most beautiful spot in Utrecht.
After this, we had free time to explore. We ate waffle fries, bought and tasted some chocolate, visited the smallest bar in Ghent (which used to be a jail) and then off to visit the Gravenstein Castle. The moated castle was built by Count Phillip of Alsace in 1180. I am so impressed with how well these castles have stood the test of time. When I think about how long ago they were built with no modern way of constructing such a large building, it really is amazing!
Our day in Antwerp was spent participating in a walking tour of the city and ending our time with a Belgium beer tour! We saw the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady, Steen’s Castle, Grote Market and Brabo Fountain. This particular city paid homage to the Virgin Mary. Citizens from long ago would place a statue of the Virgin Mary on a light post so they would not have to pay taxes! Some statues were elaborate and some very simple, but all placed for the same reason. We ended our day with a beer tour tasting local beers. Some were good, others not so much! After all that beer, I finally found my Belgium waffle! It was delicious!

Virgin Voyages knows how to do it RIGHT! The ship is gorgeous and filled with places to lounge, eat, drink, relax and enjoy all over! Everywhere you turn is another place to SIP and lounge!
The ship is sleek and very Rockstar--even the rooms have moods to create with a touch of a button on the Ipad. This isn't your typical cruise... it is very laid back with the option to party. You get to decide if you want low-key relaxation or hard core party all the time.
Onboard you can find: 5 star food, bars, a tattoo parlor (yes it's fun to pop in and watch), pools, spa, high end fitness and casino. You may shake your phone and a waiter will show up with a bottle of Moet Champagne and glasses.
The entertainment is very diverse- we loved the dueling show that is very cirque like. We also loved Phantom Folktales band that performed throughout the ship. We might have become their groupies! Also onboard: Cabaret, a band that performed many events including Scarlet Night. Scarlet Night that brings all the performers and cruisers together as they celebrate throughout the ship the elegance and beauty of all Virgin has to offer.
All the staff is there to serve and LOVES being employed by Virgin- they love their uniform and how the company is so good to them and in return they want to serve and help the guest have the most SPECTACULAR time.
We felt the excitement from the moment we walked on the ship and started exploring. The night was gorgeous and filled with free champagne as we set sail that 1st night. We sailed all night and woke up in Nassau. Nassau is a great place to go on an exciting excursion OR make spa appointments and spend the day on the ship. We sailed again that night to Virgin's private island-Bimini Island. We enjoyed the perfectly blue, clear water. A HAPPY day at the beach that ended with a bonfire. The last day was spent at sea!
Plenty to do onboard with all the classes: nutrition, fitness, facials, botox (you may also get on the ship), acupuncture, game shows. Food is plentiful with themed, fun, delightful sit down restaurants, grab & go containers to sit and lounge, walk up to pizza, ice cream, sushi, street tacos, diner, ramen, & more!
The room was big and had places to put clothes, store luggage and move around. We had a big balcony and loved seeing the view.

We had a great time here- the people were so nice! The resort was adult only. The beach was great and the water beautiful. We were there in August and it was hot- the restaurants and rooms had a hard time keeping up with the heat. The food isn't as good as in Mexico- but we still enjoyed being somewhere different!

I Love SAN FRANCISCO and NAPA! I have been to San Francisco many times but Napa/Sonoma only once but I plan on returning very SOON! These pictures are from the last time I was in San Francisco and we spent time in Napa/Sonoma. San Francisco has so much to see and WALK! Amazing tours, day trips and fabulous restaurants! Napa/Sonoma we rented a car and listened to Jazz music as we drove around stopping at wineries. We sipped, drank and soaked up the beauty of it all. There is so much to do in the San Francisco Bay area & it's a city I could go back to over and over.
